Whistleblower protection

Our internal reporting office

This procedure makes sure that incoming reports are handled lawfully and that whistleblowers have nothing to fear.

The direct route: hinweisgeber@akko-personal.de — or by post toakko GmbH, Meldestelle Hinweisgeberschutz,Max-Planck-Straße 7, 76829 Landau.

This page describes the procedure in English so that the channel is usable for everyone who works here. In case of doubt the German version is authoritative, as is German law.

1. Who can report?

Our whistleblowing procedure is open to all employees, including apprentices and working students.

2. What can be reported?

Actual or suspected breaches of law — in particular breaches of criminal or administrative-offence provisions committed by our company or by people acting on its behalf.

3. Whom can you report to?

You can reach our internal reporting office by email at hinweisgeber@akko-personal.de and by post at:

akko GmbH
Meldestelle Hinweisgeberschutz
Max-Planck-Straße 7
76829 Landau

An external reporting office is maintained by the German Federal Office of Justice (Bundesamt für Justiz). You may turn to the internal or to the external office — the choice is yours.

4. How should a report be made?

For us to act on it, a report should contain all relevant information and describe the alleged breach as completely as possible. We treat every report in strict confidence within the limits of the law; the person responsible for our reporting office does not pass it on.

Anonymous reports are possible. In that case, however, we can neither confirm receipt nor inform you about the outcome of the procedure or any measures taken — we simply have no way back to you.

5. Who handles incoming reports?

The people staffing our reporting office act independently and without instruction, are bound to secrecy and are professionally qualified.

6. How are whistleblowers protected?

We maintain strict confidentiality about your identity — and, where applicable, about the identity of people named in a report. Information about identity may only be passed to authorities or courts where a legal obligation or a judicial or official order requires it, or where there is sufficient suspicion of a criminal offence.

A report is never a reason for disadvantage or reprisal. This does not apply where information is knowingly false or misleading.

7. What happens after a report?

Anyone who discloses their identity receives confirmation of receipt. We then examine the allegations; within three months you will receive notice of the outcome of that examination and of any measures initiated.
